Concerts on the Creek: Live music and food trucks every Friday evening from 7-9 PM at the Bridge Park gazebo beside Scott Creek in downtown Sylva. Admission is free!


Jackson County Farmers Market: Saturdays from 9:00am - 12:00pm at 110 Railroad Ave, Sylva, NC.


Great Smoky Mountains Railroad: Vintage steam trains with dining cars traveling through the scenic countryside from a historic depot.

FISHING

Jackson County is known as the North Carolina Trout Capital and home of the Western North Carolina Fly Fishing Trail. This trail maps out 15 prime fishing spots stocked yearly with approx. 92,800 brown, rainbow and brook trout yearly. Venture out on a solo trip with family and friends or book a guided tour.

HIKING

- Pinnacle Park: 3.4 mile out-and-back hike, climbing ~3,000 feet to the summit ridge.


- Tuckasegee River Greenway: 1-mile paved trail along the Tuckasegee River.


- Cullowhee Connector: 3.6 - mile out-and-back hiking, running and birding trail


- Paradise Falls: Popular swimming hole


- Mingo Falls: 0.4 mile trail to 120’ waterfall on Cherokee Indian Reservation


- Waterrock Knob: 1 mile out-and-back challenging hike with rewarding panoramic views of the Smokies.


- Quarry Falls: Popular cliff jumping and swimming—also called "Bust Your Butt" falls, named after the slippery boulders in the water!
